pyramide
![]() |
Have learned to like the inside-out Pompidou, but don't get me started about the hideous Tour Montparnasse (I cried the first time I saw it). However, I've always loved Pei's pyramids—how about you? [Linking back to Weekend Reflections.] |

Les ombres du Louvre

I appreciate that these sumptuous carpets and gorgeous painted dressers are still here for us to admire. The chairs aren't too shabby, either. [Linking back to Shadow Shot Sunday.] |

les mains du captif

These belong to one of Martin Desjardins' Four Captives (this one is Holland), who've been in chains since 1715. Find them in the Cour Marly et Puget, in the Louvre. [Linking back to ABC Wednesday: H is for "hands."] |

May Day au musée
![]() |
There are thousands of beautiful things in the Louvre—not just paintings and sculpture, jewelry, furniture, and objets d'art, but also the building itself. This gate is one of my all-time favorite elements. Wishing a Happy May Day to all and to my French friends, je vous offre un petit brin de muguet. I can't imagine why none of these people are gazing at the view right in front of them—the pyramid all lit up here in the courtyard of the Musée du Louvre. |

Le Louvre: Pei's pyramid
And we're up to the letter L for ABC Wednesday. I did "Louvre" last time too. But that was indoors and this is out, that was daytime and this is late at night, that was then and this is now . . . (besides, I've been playing along with this meme for a long time!). [To see more ABC shots, go here.] |
