Every time I'm in Paris, I find an ad (or two or three) that makes me smile, or frown, or shake my head —or all three. [Linking back to Ruby Tuesday and Our World Tuesday.] |

These pretty red currants were for sale last summer at the weekly bio (organic) market—held each Sunday on the Boulevard Raspail. [Linking back to Ruby Tuesday and Our World Tuesday.] |

La Gardienne
I don't know the story behind the lady who's guarding this doorway in the 12th arrondissement (if there even is one), but she has a nice face . . . |
and she's found a good way to guard herself from the ever-present pigeons (seems to be working pretty well). [Linking back to Ruby Tuesday and Our World Tuesday.] |

A bit of a splurge

I'm so glad I ate here at the Grand Véfour when I did—9 years ago, when the prix fixe lunch was about $100 total. Now it's at least half again more, though no doubt still an incredible culinary experience. Might be best to have lunch here rather than dinner, unless you've just won the lottery and don't think 84 euros is a tad dear for caviar "à la cuillère" (i.e., a third of an ounce) and some whole-wheat blinis—and that's just a starter. What's the story?
Saturday, 8 A.M., rue St. Julien le Pauvre— in front of the Hotel Esmeralda. I can think of a few scenarios to go with this image, all of them dramatic and most likely involving tears. So, is this a sad tale or a happy one? [To see more Ruby Tuesday, go here. Catch Traveling Tuesday posts at Sandi's meme. And find Our World Tuesday here.] |
